  Typical chain food. I had the exact same menu in England last week, and it was equally 'meh'. The service was slow but friendly. I really can't think of a reason to eat here.

  Last evening, my son and I took our wives and their two children to Cambustay for a meal. We have eaten there many times before, and, as usual, the food was good and the service friendly and attentive, although somewhat slow, which we put down to the number of customers being served. The menu offered three courses for £18.95, but we were assured that each course could be charged individually if necessary. In the event, my son and I had three courses, the ladies two, one of the children had a pie off the adult menu, while the other ordered a pizza from the children' menu.
  
  All was fine until the bill arrived, when we discovered that the children's main courses were included in the "3 course" deal, while those of my son and I were charged individually, thus inflating the bill. On enquiry, we were told that nothing could be done to change the bill as the till was set up to manipulate the order so that only the cheapest courses were included in the deal, while the dearer courses were charged individually. Am I alone in expecting that when I order three courses according to the advertised deal, I should pay the advertised cost, regardless of what else is ordered by others, especially when no such adjustment is noted on the menu? In the event, management reduced the bill by a token amount.
  
  The attempted sleight of hand left us feeling disgruntled and dissatisfied with the overall occasion. While we have no fault with the local staff or management, we object to a system being installed by the owners to surreptitiously inflate the overall cost to customers.
  
  In the circumstances, we shall hesitate to use the facilities of the Cambustay again until we are assured that what we order is what we pay for, without any underhand manipulation of the bill.
  
  We would advise others to look closely at their bills before paying, and register their dissatisfaction, if appropriate.
